Position Summary:

The Coordinator develops student belonging, leadership, involvement, and career-ready skills through co-curricular engagement across all college campuses and online. The position leads student programming, organizations, leadership initiatives, student employment, digital communications, and selected college-wide experiences while supervising and advising assigned student and temporary staff. In collaboration with Campus Deans and College partners, the Coordinator ensures consistent student-development outcomes, effective programming, and policy compliance across a distributed community college environment.

Essential Functions:

25% Lead and coordinate collegewide co-curricular student engagement and leadership programming across all physical campuses and online students. Advance belonging, leadership education, student success, and career readiness through learning-outcome-based experiences. Collaborate with Campus Deans, faculty/staff, and Student Affairs partners to identify local needs while maintaining consistent departmental standards; adapt delivery rather than assuming identical programming fits every campus. Assess participation, learning, access, and effectiveness and use results to improve programming.

25% Supervise, coach, schedule, and evaluate Student Engagement student employees, temporary part-time staff, and graduate assistants/interns. Organize student employment through functional task groups such as Marketing & Communications, Design & Creative Services, and Promotions & Outreach; develop student team leads; establish authentic project expectations; facilitate team meetings; and connect work to communication, teamwork, professionalism, project management, problem solving, and other Career Immersion competencies.

20% Lead the developmental support, recognition, training, and success of student clubs and organizations collegewide. Educate student leaders and advisors regarding College/TBR requirements; provide officer/advisor training; strengthen communication and collaboration; and create opportunities to practice leadership, budgeting, project management, civic engagement, and accountability. Partner with Campus Deans and advisors so organizations can thrive within local campus contexts, and coordinate with the Specialist on registration/reactivation, records, funding, travel, and operational workflows.

15% Develop, implement, coordinate, and assess assigned student engagement and leadership experiences, marketing and communication strategies, and evaluation efforts that increase student awareness, participation, learning, connection, and engagement. Serve as project lead for assigned signature engagement experiences, such as Engagement Fair, Pelli Days, welcome and connection initiatives, and other College-wide or multi-campus programs assigned by the Director. Build and support student-led planning teams, establish project timelines, collaborate with campus partners, and coordinate promotional strategies. Develop and implement marketing and communication plans using digital media, collaborating with Marketing and Communications on promotional campaigns, and student-facing messaging. Collect and analyze participation data, learning outcomes, surveys, attendance, engagement metrics, and institutional data to evaluate effectiveness and inform continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records, complete required reports, and contribute to annual reporting on departmental outcomes and student success. Share responsibility for the major-event portfolio with the Manager while providing expertise, consultation, and support to Campus Deans for locally selected activities rather than directing campus-based programming.

10% Advise and develop designated student leadership programs and organizations, including the National Society of Leadership and Success and Student Activities Board. Create intentional pathways from participation to leadership; coach students in planning, budgeting, decision-making, communication, reflection, and professional practice; and connect experiences to Career Immersion, Connect-Grow-Achieve, and the Outside-In Effect.

5% Participate in assessment/reporting, College committees, professional development, budget/resource planning, cross-campus consultation, and other responsibilities that advance Student Engagement and Leadership and the College. Contribute subject-matter expertise to campus partners and help identify barriers to equitable participation for commuter, working, adult, first-generation, and online students. Other duties as assigned to fulfill the strategic priorities and mission of the College.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Leadership, Education, Social Work, Communication, and experience using digital media platforms for communication and marketing are preferred.

Requires experience coordinating programs or projects, working collaboratively with students and campus partners, and providing student supervision, coaching, or advising. Knowledge of student development, assessment, policy compliance, and conflict management is required, along with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
