  • Department: UCHlth Professional Coding
  • FTE: Full Time, 1.0 (80 hours per pay period)
  • Shift: Days
  • Pay: $33.82 - $50.73/hour (dependent on experience)
Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring coding data integrity by reviewing diagnosis and procedure codes, validating MS-DRG, APC, or RVU designations. This is a remote position; out-of-state candidates may be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct internal quality reviews and audits, monitor issues, and report trends.
  • Provide coding education and training to staff and leadership.
  • Respond to coding inquiries and review physician queries.
  • Review coded claims data for denials and customer service requests, providing clear rationales.
  • Work independently, think critically, and operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Coding certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in professional billing coding.
  • Experience in coding audits and education.
