Cencora is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Professional to join our Ambulatory Pharmacy team in the United States. You will build patient profiles, enter prescription plan data, and confirm information for processing and adjudication, ensuring accuracy and timely service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in related fields, and preferred pharmacy technician licensure. Comprehensive benefits and full-time status are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Create patient profiles in the pharmacy system.
  • Enter prescription plan data for processing and adjudication.
  • Enter new patient prescription info into the system.
  • Handle insurance, reimbursement, and payments with providers, patients, pharmacists.
  • Support Ambulatory Pharmacy business goals and metrics.
  • Retrieve and prepare medications for pharmacist review.
  • Prepare inventory reports for purchasing decisions.
  • Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock.
  • Answer inbound calls and triage to appropriate staff.
  • Assist with adjudicated claims reviews for reimbursement accuracy.
  • Provide information for therapeutic consults with patients.
  • Intervene with PBMs to resolve plan issues.
  • Supply ambulatory dispensing robotic tech; assist with concierge deliveries.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating a patient profile in the pharmacy information system.

  • Enters necessary prescription plan information in the patient profile for processing and adjudicating patient’s prescriptions.

  • Responsible for entering all new patient prescription information into the pharmacy information system.

  • Addresses insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues as appropriate by communicating with insurance providers, patients and pharmacists.

  • Participates in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy.

  • Retrieves and prepares the medication for pharmacist review and verification.

  • Prepares inventory reports for pharmacist review to purchase.

  • Submits, receives, and places inventory in stock.

  • Answers inbound telephone calls and triages calls as appropriate based upon the nature of the call to the appropriate staff.

  • Assists with the reviews and handling of all adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriateness of reimbursement, co-pay and related financials and, if needed, as directed, follows up all such claims deemed inappropriate.

  • Assists Pharmacist by providing required information for therapeutic consults with patients.

  • Intervenes with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient specific adjudication issues.

  • Supply and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology.
    Actively participates by delivering medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.

  • 2+ years of experience in support, warehouse, logistics, or pharmacy operations, or a related field required.

  • Certification in pharmacy technician licensure or credentialing, or equivalent preferred.
