Job summary

Susan G. Komen is seeking a Coordinator for Peer-to-Peer Programs to support 3-Day, Race for the Cure and MORE THAN PINK Walk.

You will work within the Community Development team on a range of projects related to planning and execution of peer-to-peer fundraising programs and will coordinate communication across teams and agencies. Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in innovative fundraising or event operations.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising systems and tools like Salesforce, Asana, and Luminate Online.
  • Basic budgeting understanding.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Signature Programs T-shirt program management, including design, ordering, fulfillment and cost allocation for up to 40 concurrent events.
  • Develop tools for local markets to coordinate each event's needs for shirts, signage and materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside vendors for prompt communication, pricing and delivery.
  • Source and order event materials, giveaways, recognition items, and mission programming elements.
  • Collaborate with Community Development team members, internal departments and outside agencies to optimize programs.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting for programs (t-shirts, signage, warehousing).
  • Process invoices, track due dates and ensure timely payment for programs.
  • Handle day-to-day administrative functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

They will have responsibility for a range of special projects related to the planning and execution of Komen’s portfolio of Peer-to-Peer fundraising programs. They will facilitate seamless communication across the team and other departments, and with agency partners. They will balance and advance multiple activities, taking pride in seeing every project to its successful conclusion. They will be the go-to resource for our local market teams for Race and Walk t-shirt program, signage, and top fundraiser recognition pieces. They will also manage day-to-day operations related to sourcing items for all Signature Programs with procurement and working with agency partners and vendors, to further streamline processes and conserve donor dollars.

Brief Description

Primary Responsibilities
  • Coordinates T-shirt program for the Signature Programs, including design process, ordering, fulfillment, and cost allocation for as many as 40 concurrent, overlapping events
  • Develop tools for local markets, to coordinate each event’s needs for t-shirts, event signage and material for Race/Walk events
  • Build and maintain close relationships with outside vendors to ensure prompt communication, competitive pricing, and timely arrival of materials
  • Sources and orders event materials, giveaways, recognition items, mission programming elements for the Signature Programs
  • Partner with other Community Development team members, internal Komen departments, and outside agencies, to optimize fundraising programs and events
  • Contribute to the annual process of establishing expense budgets for programs managed, including but not limited to t-shirts, signage and warehousing
  • Codes and processes invoices, track payment due dates, and confirm payment processing on any program managed, including but not limited to t-shirts, signage and warehousing
  • Completes day-to-day administrative functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Management Responsibility

Guides work of others. May organize, set priorities, schedule and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance or make pay decisions.

Position Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in innovative fundraising or event operations, or doing something similar with outstanding results
  • Working knowledge of systems and tools like Salesforce, Asana and Blackbaud’s Luminate Online, and ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
  • Experience with numbers and understanding of the basics of budgeting
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, and advanced proficiency in Excel
  • A top 1 % level of resourcefulness
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support an overall strategic business plan, to see the big picture and understand how the tactical activities that can often seem small all contribute to overall success of a project
  • Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of processes and systems and make recommendations for improvements
  • Ability to manage multiple, detailed projects on multiple timelines with varying priorities
  • Attitude of the consummate team member, willing to roll up their sleeves and operate in a highly collaborative environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and planning, organization, and follow‑up skills
  • Ability to manage up and side‑ways, working with multiple teams and vendors, connecting dots across the organization, and interacting daily with our internal “customers” in local markets
