The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission’s Division of Student Affairs is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Coordinator for the Upward Bound Math and Science Program serving Weir High School. This grant-funded position offers remote work options for candidates residing within a reasonable distance of Weirton, WV. Reporting to the Director of TRIO Programs, the Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivering program services that support eligible high school students in successfully completing secondary education and preparing for postsecondary success.
The Coordinator will assist the Director of TRIO Programs in the daily delivery of program services to eligible participants to ensure successful completion of secondary education and preparation for postsecondary education. Major responsibilities include promoting services to the target community, providing academic and financial aid assistance, and documenting and evaluating services.
Classification: Full-time, Non-Classified, Exempt, Benefits-Eligible, Grant Funded
This is a federally grant-funded position serving Weir High School in Weirton, WV. Work Location: Remote Option available. The remote location must be within reasonable driving distance of Weir High School with the ability to travel to the school as necessary.
A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, social work, business or a related field is required. Two years of recent relevant work experience is required. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, program coordination and implementation, developing professional relationships across communities, academic advising, college access/financial aid advising, counseling, mentoring, tutoring, and experience with TRIIO or other college access programs. Must be able to meet travel requirements, including possible airline travel.
