The Archdiocese of San Antonio Careers is looking for a Coordinator of Religious Education to work full-time at Saint James – Faith Formation in Seguin, Texas. The role includes overseeing religious education programs, evaluating staff effectiveness, and recruiting volunteers.
The ideal candidate should have an undergraduate or graduate degree in theology or religious education and be a practicing Roman Catholic. Responsibilities also involve program implementation and budget management. A commitment to ongoing education is needed.
In collaboration with the Director of Religious Education (DRE), Pastor or Associate, the CRE is responsible for a portion of the religious education program of the parish. This would include A) Theological B) Catechetical and C) Administrative aspects of the particular area of responsibility. Areas could include, but are not limited to, elementary catechesis, confirmation preparation, youth ministry, etc. The CRE reports to the pastor and parish council(s) and committees as required by the pastor.

Full-time/Non-exempt (hourly)

Responsible for implementing a portion of the parish religious education program in accordance with the parish mission statement and goals.
An undergraduate or graduate degree in theology or religious education/teaching.
Certification as a Master Catechist through the Advanced Catechetical Ministries (ACM) Program or willingness to obtain.
Archdiocesan catechist certification through the Catechetical Ministries Program or a university certificate program in catechetical leadership or willingness to attend
Two to three years recent teaching or catechetical experience
A record of attendance at diocesan workshops and seminars for ongoing education.
Executive responsibility as employee or volunteer
Experience in working with adult volunteers.
A record of attendance at workshops and seminars in management and administrative skills.
