Ringgold School District in New Eagle, PA seeks a Coordinator of Elementary Instruction to lead and coach elementary leaders and teachers toward reducing learning loss through data-driven instruction aligned with PA Standards.

The CEI will collaborate with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and building principals to support district priorities, monitor implementation, and promote high-quality instruction and professional growth across schools.

Qualifications

  • Principal PK-12, or Superintendent Letter of Eligibility certification.
  • Curricular or Central Office administrator experience.
  • Building Principal experience.
  • Completion and submission of all mandated pre-employment documents and information.
  • Additions or alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable consistent with Pennsylvania law, regulations and requirements of the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and support to principals and professional staff that focuses on instructional leadership, school culture, learning loss, data-analysis, data-driven decision-making, community and family engagement.
  • Support implementation of District’s Strategic Plan and District’s initiatives amongst staff.
  • Provide guidance to school leaders to develop or enhance processes and procedures to ensure fidelity of implementation of District initiatives and school priorities.
  • Assist school administrator teams in conducting classroom observations to calibrate observation skills and provide actionable feedback.
  • Assist school leadership teams in creating collaborative learning environments and climates for students, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Assist school leaders in building the capacity of school staff to promote standards-driven instruction and professional growth within professional learning communities.
  • Facilitate opportunities for school leaders and professional staff across school sites to collaborate and learn from one another.
  • Assist with the coordination of instructional programs and services to ensure efficient implementation and support a systemic approach to curriculum and instructional planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting student data, performance metrics, and teacher and administrator observation and evaluation data to improve leadership and teacher practices in combating learning loss as described in ESSERS.
  • Assist schools in making connections between PA Standards and the District's instructional framework (teacher evaluation system).
  • Demonstrate high standards of honesty, integrity, flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board Policies.
  • Model lessons in classrooms on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain a safe, caring, student-centered environment that promotes high academic and ethical standards among students and staff.
  • Support the instructional development of all professional staff in understanding the PA Standards and the STEELS standards, as well as varied formative assessments that seek to expand students’ depth of knowledge of a skill or subject and data analysis.
  • Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
  • Develop coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.
  • Submit a weekly coaching log and any pertinent data requests/coaching documentation.
  • Assist building administration with additional responsibilities, including but not limited to, matters related to student attendance and discipline, as assigned by the building principal.
  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of student at all times within the school setting, on school property and on approved outings and/or field trips.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

TITLE: Coordinator of Elementary Instruction

REPORTS TO: Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Building Principal, Director of Human Resources and Curricular Programs, and Director of Pupil Services

JOB SUMMARY: The Coordinator of Elementary Instruction (CEI) is responsible for supporting high quality school leadership and instruction by coaching professional staff on learning loss as described by ESSERS. This includes developing the knowledge, skills and abilities in these teams to effectively implement District priorities; providing differentiated support to specific school leaders; and monitoring efforts to ensure implementation that will lead to combating learning loss. The role of the CEI is to build teacher capacity and their understanding of instructional practices as related to the PA Standards, Depth of Knowledge (DOK) assessment, and data driven instruction. An CEI is a learner who models continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and goes above and beyond to ensure student success. The CEI works collaboratively with the building principals, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent. The CEI promotes reflection, provides guidance and structure where needed, and focuses on strengths, collaboration, and common issues of concern. They are responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, and providing feedback to professional staff.
