RWJBarnabas Health Hamilton is seeking a Coordinator Materials Mgmt to manage the OR supply chain, ensuring adequate stock and cost-efficient operations for daily surgeries. You will oversee procurement, inventory, replenishment, and tracking of surgical supplies to support uninterrupted OR procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of hospital supply chain operations.
• Some college preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and implants.
• Coordinate supply ordering, stocking, and distribution for the OR.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders, staff, and vendors to ensure product availability.
• Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled items are removed promptly.
• Monitor usage to reduce waste and improve efficiency; maintain PAR levels in PeopleSoft.
• Track implants using the UDI tracker.
• Conduct inventory audits and rounding.
• Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs.

Location: RWJ Hamilton, One Hamilton Health Place, Hamilton, NJ 08619

Pay Range: $22.73 - $26.78 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

A Typical Day

Hospital operating room (OR) supply chain coordinators, including titles of buyer, OR coordinator, and perioperative coordinator manage the procurement, inventory, replenishment and tracking of supplies and inventory needed for surgical procedures. The role focuses on ensuring the OR is fully stocked, cost-efficient, compliant, and prepared for daily surgeries without delay.

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and implants, coordinate supply ordering, stocking, and distribution for the OR.
• Collaborate with nursing leaders, staff, and vendors to ensure product availability.
• Ensure expired, damaged, or recalled items are removed and managed promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations; analyze usage trends to reduce waste and improve efficiency; maintain accurate inventory and PAR levels in PeopleSoft using data to drive PARs.
• Manage and track implants using the UDI tracker.
• Reviews OR booking sheets and plans supply procurement accordingly.
• Process Bill Only requisitions withing established time frame; monitors STAT requisitions to avoid increased cost.
• Resolve back orders and shortages by collaborating with clinical team for clinically approved substitutes or replacements.
• Conducts documented inventory audits and rounding.
• Support emergency supply requests and replenishment needs.
• Maintain compliance with hospital and department policies, safety standards, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
