Job summary

Collaborative in Chicago, IL is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to repair, install, calibrate, and maintain a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation on-site. You will complete inspection and repair paperwork accurately and on time, and keep equipment properly maintained.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, knowledge of biomedical equipment, and proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Strong demonstrable technical troubleshooting ability.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, electricity, electro-mechanical, fluidics, pneumatics and hydraulic theories and practices.
  • Understanding of and ability to operate specialized test equipment used on medical equipment.
  • Broad knowledge base of various hospital/homecare medical equipment.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suites.
  • Adaptable and able to respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results.
  • Physical ability to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs., using small tools and BMET equipment.
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology (or successful completion of the military BMET school)

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, maintain, calibrate and inspect a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation
  • Complete all required paperwork on new equipment inspections and equipment repairs and failures accurately and on time
  • Properly maintain company issued equipment
  • Maintain expected productivity according to productivity and billing requirements
  • Stay current with new products and new technologies in the biomedical industry
  • Communicate job status to management
