Job summary

Copeland Scroll Compressors LP is seeking an Engineering Change Coordinator to lead ECN implementation, pilot builds, and new product introductions in a high-volume compressor manufacturing setting. The role acts as the primary liaison between Corporate Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Materials to minimize production disruption while ensuring launch readiness.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • 3+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, project management, or new product introduction roles.
  • Experience supporting engineering changes and product launches in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Compressor, HVACR or other discrete manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change, New Product Introduction (NPI), and project management methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within cross-functional manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk-management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation and approval of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and product design changes within the manufacturing plant.
  • Serve as the primary plant contact for Corporate Engineering regarding engineering changes, product changes, and new product introductions.
  • Review engineering changes for manufacturability, operational impact, tooling requirements, and implementation feasibility.
  • Develop and maintain engineering change implementation plans, schedules, and communication updates.
  • Track change execution and ensure timely completion of all required plant activities.
  • Partner with Corporate Engineering and Product Engineering teams to support new compressor platform launches and product enhancements.
  • Coordinate with plant resources to ensure readiness activities including equipment, tooling, documentation, training, parts availability, and process validation.
  • Facilitate cross-functional launch meetings and track action items through completion.
  • Identify launch risks and elevate issues that may impact timing, quality, cost, or production readiness.
  • Lead the planning and execution of pilot builds and trial production runs with Materials, Quality, Operations and Process Owners/Engineering.
  • Coordinate directly with Operations, Process Owner Engineers, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance personnel to ensure successful pilot execution.
  • Develop pilot build schedules and resource plans.
  • Ensure Process Owners update documentation or PCNs are available and understood before pilot execution.
  • Document pilot results, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
  • Drive closure of issues identified during pilot builds before full production release.
  • Work closely with local Process Engineers to execute pilots and validate process changes on production lines.
  • Coordinate tooling, equipment, fixture, and process modifications required to support new products and engineering changes (ECNs).
  • Verify manufacturing processes meet quality, safety, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Support process capability studies with Quality representatives and validation activities as required.
  • Act as the central communication point between Corporate Engineering and plant personnel.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review project status, open issues, and implementation timelines.
  • Provide clear updates to plant leadership on engineering changes, pilot outcomes, and launch readiness.
  • Build strong relationships with Corporate Engineering and plant operations teams.
  • Ensure engineering changes are implemented accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate successful pilot builds with minimal disruption to production.
  • Drive manufacturing readiness for new product launches.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders.

Engineering Change Coordinator

The Engineering Change Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering changes, pilot builds, and new product introductions within a high-volume compressor manufacturing environment. This role serves as the key link between Corporate Engineering, Product Engineering, Process Ownership Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Materials to ensure engineering changes are effectively implemented with minimal disruption to production. The Engineering Change Coordinator will lead the execution of pilot builds, coordinate manufacturing readiness activities, manage implementation timelines, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned throughout the engineering change process. The position plays a critical role in supporting product launches, validating manufacturing processes, and driving successful transitions from development to full-scale production.
