Overall Function

TheCoordinatorwill be expected toprovide project-basedassistanceand program support for the EDF Action Team.The position requires an individual who understands how to get things done in a large, complex organization through influence and collaboration. It is also essential that the personhaveexceptional writing skills and experience in handling sensitive and confidential information.Reporting to theDirector of Board & External Relations, theCoordinatorwill coordinate and support EDF Action’s advocacy campaigns and agenda. This position has a specific focus on internal communications, marketing, and development tomaintainconnection between individuals and teams and cultivate engagement.This position reports to the Director,Board& ExternalRelations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely withDirector of Board Relations and President of EDF Action to manage projectswith internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compose, edit, and proofreadproposals, stewardship reports, and other communications fordonor-facingmaterials;coordinating with the Donor Communications team, ensuring that donor documents meet the highest standards of writing and that the content reflects EDFAction’s priorities.
  • Assistin thetimelyandaccuratepreparation ofdonorand boardmaterialformeetingsand events; coordinating relevantplanning for each event.
  • Ensurestrong communicationand coordination within EDF Action, Political Affairs, and with other EDF programs and teams.
  • Support special projects such as research, public facing events, internal promotional events, and external educational events.
  • Ensureprojectsuccess byfacilitatingstrong communicationand sharing of information, ensure deliverables are given withinspecifiedtimeframe, and make sure tasks are people are on the right track/understand their roles.
  • Support in the creation ofpromotional, fundraising, and advertisement communications for external and internal collaboration and relationship building.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings;Identifyand track key takeaways, next steps,resourcesand research needs and pull a team together/start a plan to complete these directives.
  • Develop and manage metrics tracking systems toassistwith grant reporting and writing, presentations,boardand donor reports.
  • Conduct administrative duties as needed including travel arrangements, expense reports, and meeting coordination forteam’sleadership.
  • Participate in advancing EDF’s organizational effectiveness and culture goals, so people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected,includedand empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in ways that align with EDF values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; aBachelor’sdegree or equivalent may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience. Experiencein a fundraising,nonprofitorelectoralsettingis preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose, edit, and expertly proofread correspondence and other documents.
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills and the ability to convey complex ideas in writing, with a level of clarity and sophistication expected by our highly integral donors and prospects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability tomaintaintact, diplomacy, and confidentiality whilerepresentingthe organization and interfacing with all levels of staff at the national and affiliate offices, as well as with volunteers, donors, and outside vendors.
  • Exceptionalorganizationalskillsand the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyboth independently and as a member of teams in a dynamic and creativeenvironment.
  • Ability to develop relationships and work collaboratively across the department and the organization.
  • Proven skill at building relationships to engender trust and influence cross-functionallyin order todrive execution toward common goals.
  • Sound, independent judgment to plan,prioritizeand organize a diversified workload.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues and partners of varied backgrounds and experience.
  • High ability to actively listen to colleagues, senior developmentmanagementand donors to deftly navigate and manage relationships.
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity; the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet research. Experience working with Salesforce, fundraising or relational databasesstronglypreferred.
  • Demonstrated self-awareness, cultural competency, inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across all cultures and backgrounds.
  • Interest in environmental advocacy is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to engage in national travel up to 10% oftime.
