Job summary

Frontier Airlines is seeking a Deferred Maintenance Coordinator in Denver to support the Manager of Maintenance Demand Planning & Analysis. You will oversee MEL/CDL/NEF/ODM actions, plan repairs, coordinate parts, and ensure compliance with FAA guidelines and Frontier standards.

The role requires an FAA A&P license and 3 years of airline maintenance experience, with strong organization and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
  • 3 years of Airline or Transport Category Aircraft experience.
  • 3 years of interfacing with MEL Manual for aircraft operations.
  • 3 years of aircraft maintenance in a Line Maintenance environment (A320 preferred).
  • Experience with Maintenance Information Systems (TRAX/AMOS) and Flight Operating System (Sabre/Cae or similar).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor MEL/CDL/NEF and interfacing manuals to ensure airworthiness and safety.
  • Own the MEL maintenance capture program.
  • Identify and prioritize MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM capture.
  • Verify material requisitions and transfer orders at deferral.
  • Request proper TSWS by engaging Technical Services/Engineering and others.
  • Modify maintenance events for Frontier personnel or approved providers.
  • Manage MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM escalation per guidance and FARs.
  • Provide FAA and internal reporting on MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM plans and results.
  • Support MEL Steering Committee meetings and FAA interventions.
  • Coordinate with STC partners for MEL/CDL/NEF/ODM efficiency.

What Will You Be Doing?

The Deferred Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Manager, Maintenance Demand Planning & Analysis in the development and coordination of resolution actions for Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishings List (NEF), and Other Deferred Maintenance (ODM) items, to include extensive work scopes, repair and/or replacement of parts, assemblies, and aircraft structures compliance with 14CFR 121.628. Specifically, the Deferred Maintenance Coordinator ensures an Acceptable Level of safety (ALoS) by planning MEL/CDL/NEF/ODM repairs at the earliest practicable opportunity. The Deferred Maintenance Coordinator monitors, reports, and coordinates resolution actions to restore aircraft to type design by ensuring the parts, personnel, facilities, procedures, and schedules are within the prescribed deferral limits, company goals, and special requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Monitor the MEL/CDL/NEF and interfacing manual specifications for conditions and limitations in the form of placard, maintenance procedures, crew operating procedures and other restrictions to ensure airworthiness requirements and an acceptable level of safety (ALoS) are maintained.
  • Take operational ownership for all aspects of the MEL maintenance capture program.
  • Identify and prioritize the MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM capture ensuring alignment with Frontier standards and guidelines.
  • Verify and validate the suitability and completeness of material requisitions and transfer orders performed at time of deferral application in support of MEL/CDL, NEF and ODMs including, but not limited to parts, expendables, consumables, and special tools.
  • Identify and request the proper Technical Services Work Scope (TSWS) by engaging appropriate teams for TSWS development (e.g. Technical Services/Engineering/Other) and ensure scheduling within the time constraint of the TSWS.
  • Continuously evaluate and modify, as required, all planned maintenance events to be accomplished by both Frontier maintenance personnel and/or approved maintenance providers.
  • Manage the MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM escalation processes per company guidance and FARs
  • Verify that MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM program changes meet regulatory requirements, comply with Frontier standards and policy, and fully interface with Maintenance & Operations functions, Aircraft Flight Manual Limitations, Emergency Procedures or Airworthiness Directives, ensuring compliance with FAA MMEL, Operations Specifications, ICAO and internal manuals.
  • Provide daily company and FAA reporting relative to MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM work capture plans and success.
  • Provide weekly reporting relative to ODM capture plans for 30/60/90 days.
  • Provide technical, operational, and policy support to the Frontier Airlines MEL Steering Committee.
  • Provide timely corrective actions for deficiencies noted by the FAA or internal investigations.
  • Assist in quarterly and ad hoc MEL Steering Committee meetings.
  • Participate in meetings with the FAA concerning MEL/CDL/NEF Program and ODM Program (revisions, temporary revisions, FAA issues).
  • Coordinate ICA, material, and tooling needs with Frontier Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) partners to ensure and maintain MEL/CDL/NEF and ODM efficiency and currency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Maintenance Demand Planning and Analysis.
  • Maintain familiarization with the training requirements necessary as defined by the GMM 100: Maintenance Training Program and ensure training is current prior to performing the functions and tasks of this position.
Qualifications
  • Required - Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
  • Required - 3 years of Airline or Transport Category Aircraft experience
  • Required - 3 years of experience interfacing with the MEL Manual for purposes of aircraft operations
  • Required - 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience in a Line Maintenance environment (Preferably on A320 series aircraft)
  • Preferred - Experience using Maintenance Information Systems (TRAX, AMOS, or similar) and Flight Operating System (Sabre, CAE, or similar)
