Job summary

The Santa Cruz Warriors are seeking an upbeat and hardworking individual to support community relations, events, and administrative work. This full-time onsite role reports to the Director, Community and Public Relations and offers exposure to a growing sports and entertainment organization.

You will build partnerships, coordinate volunteer events, assist with game-day activities, contribute to content development, and help track program impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years in community relations or equivalent.
• Ability to think creatively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Conversational Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and expand community partnerships aligned with our priorities.
• Support community outreach and volunteerism efforts.
• Assist with planning and execution of monthly Helping Hands volunteer events.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external partners to meet stakeholder goals.
• Help manage programming across community relations, partnerships, youth programming, and events.
• Track, evaluate, and report on the impact of our programming.
• Assist in online content development including website, social media, and donation program.
• Lead development and deployment of the SCW Community Newsletter monthly.
• Support event logistics with internal staff and the team mascot.
• Support game-day community relations duties including activations and fundraising.
• Lead Kaiser Permanente Thrive Zone ideation, communication, and follow-up for home games.
• Lead donation management tracking and execution.
• Assist with Kaiser Permanente Arena events.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the Position

The Santa Cruz Warriors are looking for an upbeat and hardworking individual to support our community relations efforts, events, and administrative work. This position reports to the Director, Community and Public Relations.

This is a full-time position based onsite in Santa Cruz, CA.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and expand community partnerships that align with our strategic priorities
• Support organization's community outreach and volunteerism efforts
• Assist with planning and execution of organization's monthly Helping Hands volunteer events
• Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external partners (corporate sponsors, community groups) to meet stakeholder goals
• Help manage key programming and initiatives across community relations, partnerships, grassroots, youth programming, and special events (i.e., event creation, set up and execution, tear down, etc.)
• Track, evaluate, and report on the impact of our programming
• Assist in community related online content development and execution including but not limited to - website, social media, and donation program
• Lead development and deployment of the SCW Community Newsletter monthly
• Support communication and scheduling for event logistics with internal staff and the team mascot, Mav'Riks
• Support community relations game-day duties such as but not limited to activations, hospitality, and fundraising efforts
• Lead Kaiser Permanente Thrive Zone ideation, communication, and post-game follow up for all SCW home games
• Lead donation management tracking and execution
• Assist with events at Kaiser Permanente Arena, such as season ticket member and partner events, concerts, shows, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years of community relations or equivalent experience
• Ability to think creatively and outside-the-box
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and peers at all levels within the organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication, service and resolution skills
• Ability to balance multiple projects at once in a fast-paced work environment without constant supervision
• Conversational Spanish preferred, but not required

Time Commitment

• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays according to game/event schedule

Compensation

• $24.00 - $25.00 Per Hour + Bonus
