Job Details

The Biomedical Technician I is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, maintaining, and verifying the accuracy of all infusion delivery devices at Jefferson Home Infusion Service (JHIS). The technician uses appropriate equipment and complies with policies and procedures, including maintenance of infusion pump analyzers and inventory control electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
• Clean and sanitize infusion-related equipment returned from patient use, including ambulatory infusion pumps, accessories, and storage pouches.
• Maintain electronic inventory and preventative maintenance records according to regulatory standards.
• Perform diagnostic, functional, and flow rate testing to ensure infusion equipment is accurate and ready for patient use.
• Process biohazardous and chemotherapy waste for transport and destruction by third-party vendors.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for equipment repairs beyond the technician's scope.
• Coordinate with JHIS staff to facilitate the return of equipment from patients.
• Supervise part-time biomedical technician staff on a daily basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Biomedical training with at least 100 hours.
• Preferred 1-3 years of prior experience.
