JOB TITLE: Coordinator, Benefits Administration Technology

JOB TYPE: FLSA Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Director of Benefits Administration

SUMMARY: The Benefits Administration Coordinator is responsible for serving as the day-to-day liaison for our client contacts and their vendors during implementations, open enrollments, and ongoing benefits administration. This position works closely with the Employee Navigator Support team and Manager. Responsibilities include system configurations, testing, delivering project outcomes, maintaining employee eligibility, quality assurance, resolving client issues, and collaborating with colleagues. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, with high standards and a hands-on approach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage client deliverables related to benefit plan design changes for implementations, renewals, and ongoing administration.
  • Review and update business and plan design requirements, and configure systems accordingly.
  • Perform quality assurance on client deliverables such as carrier files, payroll files, billing reports, and requests.
  • Analyze technical requirements, test plans, and training materials.
  • Execute test plans and scenarios to ensure requirements are met.
  • Manipulate, map, convert, and validate data using internal systems, external files, and Excel.
  • Research and resolve client issues.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
  • Identify and escalate risks, providing high-level resolutions.
  • Recommend efficiency improvements and best practices.
  • Build relationships with clients, vendors, carriers, and internal teams for successful projects.
  • Train internal team members on best practices and client-specific processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in health care, insurance, HR, or benefits industries, especially during open enrollment or renewals.
  • Experience with Benefits Administration, COBRA, Spending Accounts, HRIS, or Payroll is a plus.
  • Valid unrestricted Life, Accident & Health License in Texas and ongoing education compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including creating tables, charts, pivot tables, mail merges, and formulas.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
