Job summary

St. Gregory the Great Catholic Parish in Virginia Beach is seeking a part-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry to join our team.

The coordinator will work with the Director of Religious Education to guide ministry for middle school through 12th grade and will partner with the Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry to provide support. The role includes overseeing weekly high school religious education, monthly activities, OCIA adapted for teens, Confirmation, retreats, and service opportunities, plus

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Would prefer a bachelor's degree, and some experience in ministry or evangelization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide vision and coordination for the parish's youth ministry efforts for middle school through 12th grade.
• Collaborate with the Director of Religious Education and support the Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry.
• Oversee high school religious education (weekly), monthly activities, retreats, service activities, and connections with middle school youth through CRE K-8.

The Coordinator of Youth collaborates with the Director of Religious Education to provide vision and coordination for the parish's efforts in ministry to young people from middle school through 12 th grades and works with the Coordinator of Young Adult Ministry to provide support and ministry back-up. This includes high school religious education (weekly), monthly activities, OCIA adapted for teens, Confirmation, retreats, and service activities, as well as working with the CRE K-8 to connect with the middle school youth.

This position is classified as an MA-2 position $19.68 - $24.60 per hour based on education and experience. Some benefits apply.
