Qualifications you’ll bring:

  • An AAS in Business or Finance or two years’ experience in insurance or related field preferred.
  • The availability to work [full-time, virtual]
  • Medical claims processing experience required. Familiarity with CPT-4 and ICD-10 procedural and diagnosis coding and medical terminology.
  • Must be experienced or knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: No Fault, Workers’ Compensation, Third Party Liability, Medicare and/or other Insurance. Prior experience with Accounts Payable or Finance preferred. Prior COB experience including familiarity with reading various EOB forms is highly desirable. Coordination of Benefits experience/knowledge of NYS and Federal regulations pertaining to the order of benefits preferred.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into COB cases, documenting insurance coverage details, accident-related diagnoses, and other essential information
  • Apply COB guidelines to determine benefit primacy and process secondary claims efficiently
  • Manage financial recovery efforts, including outreach to providers and members for collections on outstanding balances
  • Process returned MVP checks, provider/member refund checks, and accurately post recoveries in the claims accounting system
  • Build professional relationships with providers and facilities to resolve refund balances and streamline account reconciliation
  • Adjust, reprocess, and post refund and returned checks while maintaining proper documentation for accuracy
  • Address incoming inquiries regarding COB and Recovery, ensuring professional and knowledgeable support for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to our humble pursuit of excellence by performing various responsibilities that may arise, reflecting our collective goal of enhancing healthcare delivery and being the difference for the customer
