Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field with extensive watchstander/command center ops experience.
• Master’s degree option with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an associate’s with 7+ years.
• HS diploma with 9+ years of relevant experience acceptable.
• Proven experience in defense/intelligence watchfloor or command center roles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enterprise networks, communication channels, and threat systems for continuous situational awareness.
• Log, prioritize, and escalate critical alerts and information requests across theater centers.
• Coordinate rapid operational response with cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Draft daily executive summaries, spot reports, and incident notifications.
• Maintain watch logs, baselines, shift handoff docs, and SOP references.
• Track outages, status, and mission-critical metrics.
• Suggest and implement improvements to watchstander workflows.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring enterprise operational networks, communication channels, and threat management systems to maintain continuous situational awareness.

• Receiving, logging, prioritizing, and escalating critical operational alerts, incidents, and information requests across theater command centers.

• Collaborating with cross-functional technical teams, watch officers, and leadership to coordinate rapid operational response efforts.

• Drafting, publishing, and disseminating daily executive summaries, operational spot reports, and incident notification briefings.

• Maintaining watch logs, operational baselines, shift handoff documentation, and standard operating procedure references.

• Tracking critical system outages, network operational statuses, and mission-essential capability metrics.

• Recommending and implementing continuous process improvements to streamline watchstander workflows and emergency response protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Operational Studies, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in watchstander or command center operations.

• OR a master’s degree and 3+ or more years of relevant experience

• OR an associate’s degree and 7+ or more years of relevant experience

• OR a high school diploma and 9+ or more years of relevant experience

• Proven experience serving in a watchstander, watch officer, or command center operations coordinator role within defense or intelligence environments.

• Strong background in monitoring enterprise communication systems, operational tracking tools, and emergency incident escalation procedures.

• Experience maintaining operational logs, shift handoff documentation, and critical status reports.

• Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex technical documentation and executive operational briefings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or ITIL Foundation.

• Prior experience supporting U.S. Military Command operations, Joint Operations Centers (JOC), or Combatant Command watch floors.

• Familiarity with C4I system architectures, automated incident tracking software, and crisis management reporting tools.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams in high-stress, fast-paced operational environments.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must hold a current/active TS/SCI security clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
