Job summary

Fox Rothschild is seeking an experienced real estate attorney in New York to focus on transactional matters for cooperative and condominium boards. You will draft, review, and enforce proprietary leases, bylaws, and house rules, and manage day-to-day regulatory issues affecting housing associations.

The role includes negotiating access agreements, handling financing matters, and advising clients on compliance across local, state, and federal levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in transactional real estate matters a plus.

Responsibilities

• Focus on transactional real estate matters, with an emphasis on representing and advising cooperative and condominium boards.
• Draft and review proprietary leases, by-laws, and house rules, and assist boards in enforcing these documents.
• Prepare AIA contracts and access license agreements, and advise board members and managing agents on day-to-day legal matters and regulatory issues affecting housing associations.
• Draft and amend governing documents (proprietary leases, declarations, bylaws, rules, and regulations) and operational form documents and policies.
• Draft documents for and render advice at board and shareholder/unit owner meetings.
• Advise on budget and expense matters, including dispute resolution as needed.
• Negotiate access agreements; experience with Article 881 proceedings is a plus.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with contractors and vendors, as well as retail and commercial leases and garage agreements.
• Advise clients on local, state, and federal compliance issues.
• Experience with borrower-side financing and re-financing is required.
