La Costa Glen Carlsbad is currently hiring outstanding cooks for full-time positions. Cook I starts at $20.40/hr, Cook II at $23.15/hr, and Cook III at $26.30/hr, depending on experience.

Requirements include at least two to four years’ experience in a hotel, restaurant, or retirement community. You will join a culinary team that crafts distinctive dishes and delivers an authentic food experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant or retirement community.
• Ability to plan and organize work, interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance; some knowledge of nutrition and diet.

• Read and follow recipes accurately to bring dishes to life.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar company
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet
• Culinary education preferred
• Prior to beginning work at our community, applicants must complete and pass a drug screening, physical exam with tuberculosis (TB) skin test, and criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice (over 18 only). The background search includes minor misdemeanors and DUIs.
