SC WM Material Handler I - 1st Shift (Cooking)

New Bern, NC/ Full-time

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities

The Material Handler ensures the safe, efficient and accurate movement of ROH, HALB & FERT materials by utilizing the defined standards. Loads, unloads and moves materials within factory warehouse and manufacturing areas. The material handler supports production through distribution of materials by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product.

$18.01 - $24.97

Responsibilities

• Supports a safe work environment and takes action to improve safety.
• Operates tools & equipment safely, follows PPE rules.
• Conducts shift start inspections of mobile equipment.
• Reports unsafe conditions, property damage, or incidents immediately.
• Inspects PPE before use.

Quality:

• Shows commitment to quality and takes actions to ensure quality of parts and products.

Work Content:

• Performs warehouse functions according to standards and SOPs.
• Meets quality and productivity metrics.
• Follows instructions for material movement.
• Loads/unloads deliveries, verifies orders, and manages inventory movement.
• Operates cyclic replenishment systems and interacts with vendors.
• Conveys materials, maintains inventory, and prepares shipments.
• Collaborates with inventory and purchasing groups.

Equipment:

• Maintains handling equipment, including operating forklifts and tuggers.
• Lift truck certification required.

Processes:

• Interacts with SAP for ordering and documentation.
• Completes paperwork thoroughly and promptly.

Organization:

• Communicates clearly, contributes to team, and cross-trains.
• Maintains a clean and organized work environment.

Your profile

Job Qualification Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to use PC software (data entry)
• Follow safety procedures
• Work well in a team and be detail-oriented
• Able to perform physical tasks and communicate effectively
• Flexible hours, including overtime

Knowledge:

• Interpersonal and organizational skills
• Understanding of material flow and inventory control
• Skills: Scheduling, Time Management, Safety, Data Entry, Process Improvement

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year preferred
