Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring for a part-time role at our New Haven store. As a member of the Cookie Crew you will greet guests, take orders, bake cookies, and help deliver warm, delicious treats with a smile.

You’ll work in a fun team environment with opportunities for growth and employee perks including free cookies and an on-site discount. The position requires you to be 18+ and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexible part-time schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months in a customer-service role preferred.
• Excellent communication and friendly demeanor.
• Strong math skills and accuracy with payments.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and take orders per procedure.
• Help customers understand menu items and confirm orders for accuracy.
• Provide a warm, friendly experience in person and over the phone.
• Bake cookies to perfection and serve with a scoop of ice cream.
• Package and deliver fast, warm, correct orders.
• Handle cash with accuracy and avoid shortages or overages.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain the bakery.

As a member of the Cookie Crew at our New Haven store located at 240-242 College Street New Haven, CT 06510, you are the ultimate Insomniac. Not only are you the point person at the front of the store for interacting with our customers, but you also get to bake all of our awesome Warm and Delicious cookies as well!

WHAT ELSE WILL I DO AS A MEMBER OF THE COOKIE CREW?

• Promptly greet guests entering the store and take their orders according to procedure
• Help customers understand menu items, answer clarifying questions, and repeat orders for accuracy
• Give each customer a warm experience with a smile in person & over the phone
• Bake our delicious cookies to perfection & a scoop of ice cream
• Ensure fast, warm, and correct delivery orders are packaged and sent out
• Handle cash and payments accurately and have no shortages or overages
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the bakery

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 6 months of experience in a customer service focused role - preferred
• Personable, genuine, outgoing demeanor
• Customer service focused and a willingness to exceed guest expectations
• Great communication, organizational and math skills
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lb boxes of product
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
