Job description

Join to apply for the Cook - Whitesburg Rd role at Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing fresh food items daily and accurately
• Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Gaining menu and product knowledge
• Managing orders efficiently
• Preparing catering orders
• Proper food handling and storage of food products
• Maintaining proper hygiene, uniform, and appearance
• Maintaining health department standards throughout each shift
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen, dish, and prep areas
• Performing shift-side work including opening and closing duties
• Completing all required certifications for Kitchen Team Members in our training platform

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Experience preferred but not required; training provided
• Proper knife skills
• Ability to operate all necessary kitchen equipment
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic with passion and urgency

Additional Requirements:

• Understand and abide by all company standards and policies (provided in your employee handbook)
• Obtain a Food Handler’s card shortly after starting employment

Work Conditions & Hours:

A typical workday may include:

• Morning shift: 8am - 4pm
• Evening shift: 4pm - 10pm
• Weekends and holidays as applicable (closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas)

*Hours may vary by store. You will work in a restaurant kitchen environment with equipment such as a flat-top grill, oven, slicer, mixer, and food processor.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting up to 30 pounds
• Cooking activities
