Job summary

12 Oaks Senior Living is seeking a cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals according to planned menus for residents and staff. The role requires adhering to health and safety standards, organizing prep tasks, and maintaining clean kitchen areas.

Candidates should have experience cooking for large groups and be capable of handling special dietary needs with accuracy. You'll operate in a resident-focused dining environment, lifting up to 30 pounds regularly and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of experience cooking for large groups preferred.
• Experience preparing special diets (low sodium, low cholesterol, diabetic, vegetarian) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals as indicated on planned menus using standardized portions.
• Ensures meals are served at scheduled times and food prep tasks are organized.
• Follows cleaning schedules and maintains sanitation in kitchen and service areas.
• Accounts for resident, staff, and guest meals according to procedures.
• Notes and reports any issues in the Food Service Department.

The Cook prepares and serves nutritious, attractive meals and maintains the cleanliness of the food production and service areas.
