Job summary

Infinity Healthcare Consulting is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in a healthcare setting, following federal, state, and local standards and our established policies. You will work under the Head Cook and Dietary Supervisor to ensure high-quality food service at all times.

Must have at least a high school education, read and write English, and have a sanitation certificate. Experience in hospital or long-term care kitchens is preferred but not required; you should be able to cook large

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Sanitation certificate required.
• One year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or related medical facility preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Reviews menus prior to preparation of food.
• Ensures that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Prepares meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepares food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Inspects special diet trays to ensure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Coordinates dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Works with the facility's dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Processes diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
• Serves food in accordance with established portion control procedures.

Education

High school education or equivalent

Sanitation certificate

One year dietary experience in hospital/long-term care preferred
