Job summary

Aspire Rural Health System is seeking a Cook for The Heartlands in Marlette, MI. This part-time role runs 11:30am to 8:00pm and focuses on providing high-quality food service to residents with dementia and other needs.

The ideal candidate has experience with older adults, strong communication skills, and a neat appearance. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or training can be provided to the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience with older adults preferred.
• Healthcare food service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate with residents, their family members and staff.
• Mature, friendly and enjoys working with people.
• Neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and procedures, and as directed by the Food Service Team Leader to ensure quality food service at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas.
• Collaborate with team members to meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.
• Ensure safe food handling and storage practices.

Hours: Part Time. 11:30am-8:00pm.

Requirements

• Previous experience in working with older adults desired. Must have a genuine desire to assist older adults with Dementia
• Previous experience in a health care facility food service department preferred.
• Must be able to communicate well with residents, their family members and other staff
• Must be mature, friendly and enjoy working with people
• Neat in appearance and good personal hygiene
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be CPR/First Aid Certified.(willing to provide training if needed)

Responsibilities
