The Grand Hotel at The Grand Canyon - the only 3-diamond hotel in Tusayan, Arizona - has 121 standard and deluxe rooms, a retail store, and the Canyon Star Steakhouse and Saloon. No matter what your job is, you play an essential role in providing warm and friendly hospitality to our guests!

We’re hiring cooks to Live. Work. Explore. just one mile from the entrance to the iconic south rim of Grand Canyon National Park!

Job Summary:

All levels of cooks are needed to work in the hotel restaurant. Responsible for assisting in all back-of-house meal preparation and following established guidelines. Adherence to food health and safety guidelines is a critical part of this position.

The Details:

  • Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
  • Season Dates: 5/25/2024
  • Pay: $16.80-$17.80 per hour
  • Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served.
  • Maintain consistency in techniques for proper food preparation, portioning, and plating as per recipes and standards.
  • Prepare a variety of food items using various kitchen equipment.
Qualifications
  • Line Cook I
    • At least 1 year of experience in high-volume kitchens, including prep, pantry, and dish tasks.
    • Knowledge of all kitchen stations and equipment.
    • Ability to follow recipes and produce consistent quality.
    • Pass ServeSafe HACCP food sanitation course.
    • Proficient knife skills and ability to train others.
  • Line Cook II
    • At least 6 months of experience on different stations or batch cooking.
    • Knowledge of all production areas and equipment.
    • Proficient knife skills and sanitation knowledge.
  • Line Cook III
    • Experience on a line station or batch cooking.
    • Knowledge of kitchen equipment like slicers, steamers, and kettles.
    • Proficient knife skills and sanitation knowledge.
  • All cooks must be available for evening shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly carry 10-20 lbs.
  • Frequently stand, walk, reach, squat, bend, carry up to 50 lbs, and push/pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, crawl, and lift/carry over 100 lbs.
