Job summary

Hilltop Community Resources in Grand Junction, CO, is hiring for a role focused on preparing nutritious and attractive meals for residents at The Fountains. The position emphasizes adherence to health regulations, safe food handling, and proper presentation of dishes.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3–6 months of related experience (or equivalent), and at least 18 years old. Background checks and health clearances are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 18 years of age required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that align with the values of Hilltop's Assisted living Communities (ALCs).
• Complete basic meal specials, daily prep cooking duties, basic soups, sauces, and desserts from scratch according to specifications.
• Prepare and plate meal orders utilizing proper food handling and presentation.
• Follow all Mesa County and Colorado Department of Health regulations to proper food handling including temperature logs and sanitizing equipment.
• Ensure food and supplies are at correct temperature and condition when received; rotate and stock according to health codes.
• Assist with catering duties as needed.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and safely store dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, bus tubs, etc.
• Inspect and maintaining proper chemicals for the dishwasher.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that align with the values of Hilltop's Assisted living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1, how we treat each other, and Service 2, how we treat our residents. Service 1 and Service 2 is demonstrated by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
• Complete basic meal specials, daily prep cooking duties, basic soups, sauces, and desserts from scratch and to the Food Service Manager's Specifications.
• Prepare and plate meal orders utilizing proper food handling and presentation.
• Follow all Mesa County and Colorado Department of Health regulations to proper food handling including proper hand washing, temperature logs, and sanitizing of food service equipment.
• Ensure food and supplies are at correct temperature and condition when received. Rotate and stock supplies according to health codes and Food Service Manager's specifications.
• Assist with catering duties as needed.
• Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and safely stories dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, bus tubs, etc. Deep clean, sweep, and mop as assigned.
• Inspecting and maintaining proper chemicals for the dishwasher.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 18 years of age required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

• Colorado Identification Card (required)
• Food Handler's Card (required)
• Serve Safe Certification (preferred)
• De-Escalation Training (preferred)
