Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions.
- Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Operate food stations, including performing station checklists, maintaining temperature logs, and signage.
- Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimated needs.
- Monitor menus and expenses to ensure economical meal preparation.
- Maintain safety awareness and report issues immediately to management.
Skill and Knowledge Requirements
- Partial High School education required; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
- Culinary knowledge.
- Food Safety certification and strong sanitation habits.
- Strong customer service skills; proactive in assisting customers and coworkers.
- Ability to recognize problems and communicate effectively with management.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Frequent movement within the work environment, including bending, lifting, reaching.
- Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs., with occasional heavier lifts.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Climbing steps regularly.
- Ability to withstand temperature extremes.
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Essential physical presence at the job site.
