Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions.
• Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Operate food stations, including performing station checklists, maintaining temperature logs, and signage.
• Requisition food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimated needs.
• Monitor menus and expenses to ensure economical meal preparation.
• Maintain safety awareness and report issues immediately to management.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements

• Partial High School education required; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
• Culinary knowledge.
• Food Safety certification and strong sanitation habits.
• Strong customer service skills; proactive in assisting customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize problems and communicate effectively with management.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Frequent movement within the work environment, including bending, lifting, reaching.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs., with occasional heavier lifts.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Climbing steps regularly.
• Ability to withstand temperature extremes.
• Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
• Clear verbal communication skills.
• Essential physical presence at the job site.
