Job summary

Gramercy Court, a Generations Healthcare facility, is seeking a dietary Cook to join our team. The role supports resident nutrition by preparing meals and ensuring dietary guidelines are followed.

The position is full time with a daytime schedule and competitive benefits. You will work with the facility's dietitian, prepare meals from planned menus, and coordinate with other departments to deliver palatable, well-portioned meals.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and have a HS diploma or GED.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess the ability to follow instructions and work with other staff.
• Background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diet is served.
• Coordinate with departments and submit reports as required.
• Prepare meals per planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Serve meals with proper portion control and presentation.
• Assist dietitian with recommended changes and dietary updates.

$18.00 - $23.00 DOE Full Time: Monday & Tuesday 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM / Friday, Saturday & Sunday 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM Gramercy Court, a Generations Healthcare facility, is in search of a dietary Cook to join our team. The primary role of the dietary Cook is to provide assistance in all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.

Essential Duties (include but are not limited to)

• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinate food service with other departments, as necessary.
• Work with the facility’s dietitian as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes and special diet orders.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must be knowledgeable of food procedures.
• Possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
• Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
• This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
