Job summary

Good Samaritan at GSS SD Wagner Ctr in Wagner, SD is hiring for a full-time food service role. You will prepare, cook and portion meals for patients, residents, staff and visitors, following menu guidelines and HACCP standards.

The position requires teamwork, basic math, reading and writing, and may require Serv Safe certification, a valid driver’s license, and BLS depending on location. Shifts vary and a 40-hour work week is typical with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Ability to perform basic math. Minimum of six months of applicable experience preferred. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Depending upon location of hire, Serv Safe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame. Additional endorsements to Serv Safe may be required depending upon location. Fulfill annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory in-services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.
• Depending on location, may be required to drive. Valid Driver's License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, assembles baked goods, cooks, seasons and portions food for patients/residents, staff and visitors.
• Adheres to HACCP guidelines and documents HACCP steps, temperatures and outcomes.
• Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment and machinery.
• Operates equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, grills and dishwashers.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and communicate effectively within a team.
