American Girl is seeking a Cook for its AG Retail location in Dallas. The role involves preparing recipes to quality standards, maintaining a sanitary kitchen, and supporting all station operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a culinary school certification (preferred), food safety certification, and a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. The Opportunity

The Cook is located at the AG Retail location and reports directly to the Restaurant Manager. Responsible for preparing food according to recipes and quality standards, maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen, supporting all station operations, and working as part of a positive, team-focused environment.

What Your Impact Will Be

• Prep and prepare recipes consistently, efficiently, and in proper quantities to support business levels.
• Ensure line station set-up standards and recipe guidelines are followed; knowledge of all stations to act as back-up.
• Perform opening, closing, and side duties established by the restaurant/kitchen supervisors.
• Ensure proper food safety and workplace safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all areas including the removal of garbage, sweeping and wet mopping, washing counter tops and equipment on a daily basis.
• Work collaboratively with the team to build a positive work environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
• A certification for an accredited or recognized culinary school, college, or comparable institution, preferred.
• Certified in local food preparation safety and sanitation standards.
• May be required to perform diverse physical tasks, including constant standing and walking, heavy lifting (30-50 lbs), etc.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, andholidays.

The pay range for this position is between $16 and $18.75 [per hour]. The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base pay will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
