Job description

This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood School Age Center.

This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual.

Duties
  • Assist in planning and implementing a comprehensive food service program following USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) policies and procedures.
  • Prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading.
  • Follow sanitation procedures when handling food.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble kitchen equipment, following safety protocols to prevent injury and equipment damage.
  • Serve as a consultant to youth cooking clubs and health and fitness programs as required. Follow risk management procedures, including abuse prevention, identification, reporting, and accident prevention.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old at the time of appointment.
  • Must have a valid Social Security Card and set up Direct Deposit.
  • Meet all qualification, eligibility, and physical requirements for this position.
  • Have a current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, free from communicable diseases, and up-to-date immunizations, including annual influenza vaccination.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Complete annual training requirements and demonstrate on-the-job competence.
  • May require working irregular hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Successfully pass employment verification (E-Verify).
  • Work involves standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance or equipment.
  • Work is performed in kitchen environments that are well-lit but often hot and noisy, with exposure to steam, fumes, and odors, as well as temperature changes in refrigeration units.
  • Complete at least 4 hours of initial food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of employment and annual refresher training of at least 4 hours.
