Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking staff to assist First and Second Cooks with preparing meals for patients, cafeteria, and catering events. The role includes setting up tray lines, gathering utensils, serving patients, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of equipment after service.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of food preparation experience; hospital environment experience is preferred, with strong communication and instruction-following abilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of one year food preparation experience is required; hospital/institutional experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and follow instructions.

• Complies with hospital, department and regional sanitation, safety and fire guidelines and regulations.
• Performs related duties, as required.
