Cook Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food according to menu to meet tenants’ nutritional needs
  • Assist with ordering food/supplies as needed
  • Record temperatures and check food quality before distribution
  • Assist with maintaining existing inventory of food/supplies by sorting, labeling and dating
  • Maintain a clean food production area through proper sanitization and food/waste disposal
  • Oversee sanitization of kitchen and other food-related areas/equipment
  • Update/maintain menu boards for tenants as needed
  • Assist Food Service Manager with hiring, orienting, training and supervising dietary staff

Qualifications

Cook Qualifications

  • MN Food Protection Manager certificate preferred
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • One year experience as a cook preparing food in a long-term care setting preferred
  • Ability to wok as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively
  • Experience working with seniors preferred
