Job Objective:

To prepare and cook food products as specified by the Manager in Charge of the Shift while adhering to the specifications and procedures in the Cooking Section of the Church's Operating Standards Manual (the "OSM"). Tasks should be accomplished in a timely, clean, and orderly manner.

Essential Job Functions
Primary Functions
  • Set up the batter table, gather smallwares, and prepare batter mix.
  • Ensure call sheets are complete, posted, and used.
  • Check all equipment and report malfunctions to the Manager in Charge.
  • Balance fryers' colors and add sufficient shortening to maintain proper levels.
  • Filter and clean fryers at designated times following safety guidelines.
  • Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
  • Prepare and cook food products as directed by the Manager in Charge.
  • Ensure all food meets specifications, procedures, and quality standards, including holding times.
Secondary Functions
  • Maintain a clean work area through "clean-as-you-go" practices, following sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Verify product and supply stock levels at the batter area.
  • Keep the cooler organized and clean.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager in Charge.
Physical Demands:

Lifting requirements include medium to heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds frequently, 75 pounds occasionally). The cook must be able to stand and walk continuously, lift and stack items, carry heavy stock, push/pull equipment, climb ladders, stoop, reach, handle various items, communicate effectively, and stay aware of surroundings.
