Job Details

Reports To (Title): Restaurant General Manager

Department: Field Operations

Job Objective: To prepare and cook food products as specified by the Manager in Charge of the Shift while adhering to the specifications and procedures in the Cooking Section of the Church's Operating Standards Manual (OSM). Tasks should be completed in a timely, clean, and orderly manner.

Essential Job Functions
Primary Functions:
  • Set up batter station, gather necessary smallwares, and prepare batter mix.
  • Ensure call sheets are complete, posted, and utilized effectively.
  • Inspect equipment and report malfunctions immediately to the Manager in Charge.
  • Balance fryer oil color and add shortening to maintain proper levels.
  • Filter and clean fryers at scheduled times following safety guidelines.
  • Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
  • Prepare and cook food as directed by the Manager in Charge, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain food quality and meet specifications, procedures, and quality standards outlined in the SOM, including proper holding times.
Secondary Functions:
  • Maintain a clean work area following sanitation and safety practices.
  • Verify stock levels and ensure supplies are available at the batter station.
  • Keep the cooler organized and clean.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager in Charge of Shift.
Physical Demands

Lifting requirements include medium to heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds frequently, 75 pounds occasionally). Must be able to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, stoop, reach, handle various items, communicate, and be aware of surroundings for extended periods.
