- Maintain high standards in the preparation of quality hot and cold foods following established recipes.
- Assist with special event catering functions as assigned by the Dietary Director.
- Maintain Service Excellence in all special functions hosted by the Riveredge Dietary Department.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling and ordering of all items.
- Participate in daily food production as needed.
- Ensure quality and safety standards for preparing and serving food.
- Work closely with nutritionist to ensure efficient management of special diet preparation and apply any special dietary restrictions to recipes.
- Keep all storage areas clean and free of clutter.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
- Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or situations noticed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Previous catering experience required. 2-3 years prior food service experience required; experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Must be reliable with a good working attitude.
- Aptitude should include verbal ability to express ideas and view effectively.
- Position is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
