Job summary

Marcus Theatres’ Parkwood Cinema in Waite Park, MN is hiring a Part Time Cook to prepare and cook food to menu standards, with flexible shifts and opportunities for growth. You’ll be part of a fast-paced kitchen that values guest satisfaction and teamwork.

You’ll work on recipes, manage orders, and maintain cleanliness while delivering quality experiences for moviegoers. Starting pay is $15-18 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends nights, and holidays; Tuesday availability required.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of knife handling, techniques, and basic prep functions.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods in a noisy, hot kitchen.
• Ability to obtain local licenses/certifications for sanitation, liquor service, or food service.
• Previous cook/food-handling experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality and presentation of food production.
• Prep and cook food according to recipes.
• Set up, break down, and maintain knowledge of kitchen stations.
• Read tickets and perform advance prep to produce orders.
• Keep line and prep area organized, stocked, and clean.
• Follow management direction and help control food waste.
• Perform additional tasks to support operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and a welcoming environment at all times.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends nights, and holidays. Tuesday availability is also a must.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hand in order to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.
• Knowledge of proper knife handling, techniques, and cooking procedures and basic prep functions (i.e. cleaning greens, prepping vegetables).
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
• Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.
• Previous experience as a Cook, chef, prep cook, line cook, line staff, or in fast food, a kitchen, restaurant or other food handling operation are helpful.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Ensure high quality and presentation of food production.
• Prep and cook food according to recipes.
• Set up, break down, and maintain necessary knowledge of kitchen equipment and stations.
• Perform necessary advance prep and read tickets to produce orders.
• Keep the line and prep area organized, stocked, and clean.
• Follow direction from management and assist in controlling food waste.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall operations.
• Support a culture of cleanliness by consistently following and reinforcing company cleaning standards. Take ownership of maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment at all times.
