Goodwin Living in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a caring Cook to prepare high-quality meals for residents in a health‑care setting. You’ll handle all stages of food preparation, ensure sanitation standards, and collaborate with dining services to deliver timely, enjoyable dining experiences for our residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Experience as a line cook in a health care facility is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist stocking and setting up kitchen stations.
• Prepare and cook foods per supervisor, including main dishes, desserts, and snacks.
• Plate dishes according to chef's instructions and ensure timely service.
• Coordinate with servers to fulfill orders accurately and on time.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and comply with safety and sanitation regulations.

About the Position

At Goodwin Living, our cooks provide a pleasurable dining experience for residents by preparing high quality food. They manage all aspects of food preparation and production in an environment that meets sanitation guidelines.

The pay is$21-$24/hrdepending on experience.

Job Duties

• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen station.
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks.
• Plating prepared foods based on the chef’s guidance.
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.

Job Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience as line cook in a Health Care Facility is a plus
