Job summary

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our culinary team and provide quality meals for residents and staff in the Healthcare Center. This PRN position offers a friendly work environment guided by Christian values and shifts that may vary as needed.

Compensation ranges from $16.00 to $19.00 per hour. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, age 18+, with two years of related experience preferred and HACCP knowledge or PA sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Two years of related food service experience preferred.
• HACCP knowledge and PA sanitation certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing food items for residents and team members with quantity recipes and portion controls.
• Follow sanitation and infection control standards and proper handling of leftovers.
• Check plating for presentation and maintain food temperature requirements.
• Learn new cooking techniques and demonstrate skills on-the-job.
• Participate in ongoing culinary education and training programs.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be at least 18 years of age

Two years of related work experience preferred

HACCP knowledge / PA Dept of Agriculture Sanitation Certification preferred

Job Description:

As a Cook, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• Preparing food items for residents and team members. Cafeteria and special functions as designated by production sheets using quantity recipes, designated portion control, and instructions by the Executive Chef and Head Cook.
• Following sanitation and infection control standards in preparation, proper handling of leftover items and cleanliness of area.
• Checking plated food for proper presentation and completeness and ensuring food temperature requirements are met.
• Willing to learn new cooking techniques and regularly demonstratingthose skills on-the-job.
• Participating in ongoing culinary education and training programs to enhance skills and experience.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Working knowledge of food service preparation as would be required through two years of related work experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of HACCP procedures and PA Department of Agriculture Sanitation Certification is preferred.
