Avera Prince of Peace-Skilled Nursing is seeking a PRN Cook to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff, and visitors in a fast-paced healthcare kitchen. You will follow approved menus, maintain sanitation standards, and assist with daily cleaning while delivering courteous service.

The role requires occasional shifts including weekends/holidays; ServSafe certification is preferred, and a High School diploma or GED is required.

  • Ability to follow approved menus and dietary procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork to support patient meals and service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares all food items for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensures quality, sanitation, and timely delivery of meals.
  • Delivers products according to daily times; adheres to menus.
  • Offers menu recommendations to leaders for patient meals.
  • Completes daily cleaning per standards and safety rules.
  • Provides excellent customer service using approved scripts.

Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for preparation, cooking, service, and distribution of food in accordance with approved menus for patients/residents, employees and visitors.What you will doPrepares all food items for patients/resident, meal service, staff, cafeteria, and special functions.Meets standards established by appropriate leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.Delivers all products according to time schedule set for the specific item.Makes recommendations to leader for all menus.Completes daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards.Responsible for delivering excellent customer service by utilizing the appropriate scripts developed for Food Services.Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.Completes additional tasks as assigned.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
