Job summary

Harboroaks in Arizona seeks a compassionate PRN Cook to join our behavioral health dining team at the Sierra Tucson campus. You will prepare meals while helping create a welcoming and supportive dining experience for patients and staff.

As a PRN role, you will work with Food Service leadership and a Dietitian to ensure nutritionally balanced menus, accurate food production, and proper sanitation. Prior kitchen experience in institutional settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Additional education or training in the culinary field preferred.
• Two or more years’ experience in a food service role preparing food for institutions (e.g., school, hospital, cafeteria) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.
• Direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with Food Service leadership or Dietitian to ensure varied, nutritious and appealing menus.
• Coordinate food production, cleaning, maintenance and inventory control tasks.
• Ensure compliance with policies, quality standards, cost parameters and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.
• Direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Work with Food Service leadership or Dietitian to ensure menus are varied, nutritionally balanced and appetizing.
• Perform and coordinate food production, cleaning, maintenance, and inventory control activities.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, cost parameters, and appropriate regulatory requirements.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
