Universal Health Services (UHS) McDowell Center in Dyersburg, TN seeks a Cook to prepare and serve patient meals per approved menus. The role is PRN with potential move to full-time as positions arise, supporting a facility focused on adolescent mental health care.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 2 years of quantity cooking experience, plus knowledge of modified diets and sanitation practices. A food handler permit and kitchen equipment experience are preferred.

McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Our staff is made up of licensed therapists, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors who offer 24-hour support for our patients. We provide young men with the skills they need to improve their thinking patterns, make healthier choices, and create new futures with improved outlooks and outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for patients according to the approved menu cycle and production sheets. This position is PRN and could move into fulltime if a postion becomes availavle.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Ttwo (2) years’ experience prefered in quantity cooking (catering) , preferred; basic knowledge of modified diets; training in food service sanitation and possession of food service food handler’s permit as required; experience utilizing industrial kitchen equipment and utensils.
