Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center in Virginia Beach, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Full-time Cook / Prep / Kitchen Utility to support meals for patients, staff and visitors. The role includes preparing meals and trays, stocking, and serving food with emphasis on cleanliness and safety.
You will assist in maintaining high standards of quality, service excellence, safety, and sanitation, following all federal, state and local regulations.
Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100‑bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near Virginia Beach, Virginia. The facility offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older and is accessible 24 hours a day. The Full‑time Cook / Prep / Kitchen Utility will prepare food for meals and special functions as needed, prepare patient and staff trays and salad/dessert bars, serve food to patients, staff and guests, and perform cleaning, stocking, maintenance, sanitation, and trash removal as assigned. This role also assists in maintaining high standards of quality, service excellence, safety, and sanitation through efficient use of resources in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational or other formal culinary education is preferred. Knowledge of food service, food safety and sanitation is required. ServSafe Certification is preferred. Experience with cooking and meal prep in a facility setting is preferred.
