Job Purpose
The Cook is responsible for the quality of food ingredients used and preparation methods. The Cook prepares basic food and menu items needed to fill catering orders based on customer requests. This position requires on-site teamwork and production support for all orders, with occasional shopping and specialty item production outside of ACW specs. The Cook must act promptly on all orders and produce high-quality menu items and recipes as directed by the General Manager and Kitchen Management. The Cook prepares all foods to specifications, including hot foods, salads, sandwiches, canapés, desserts, sauces, and cold food preparations, following designated methods. The role also involves supporting culinary initiatives, learning all standard ACW food displays and practices, and ensuring the safe use of fresh ingredients. The Cook collaborates with team members to provide solutions that require action and critical thinking, adhering to company procedures related to food quality, safety, customer satisfaction, and cost accuracy.
