Job Overview:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items for patients, cafeteria, and catering, emphasizing quality.

General Responsibilities:

• Prepare and garnish food following standardized recipes.
• Ensure quality through tasting, temperature checks, and visual inspection.
• Follow menu and production guidelines.
• Demonstrate basic skills in food preparation, equipment safety, organization, and planning.
• Maintain proper food temperatures during preparation.
• Use appropriate food-handling techniques as per policies.
• Store unused food with proper labeling and dating.
• Report repairs and supplies needed to the manager.
• Clean work areas and equipment according to schedule.
• Ensure compliance with regulations from State, Medicare, The Joint Commission, and others.
• Follow strict sanitation guidelines set by the Florida Department of Health.
• Adhere to safety and risk management policies.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Attend designated training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
