Maplewood Senior Living in Orange, CT seeks a per diem Cook to prepare and serve meals safely for our dining services. The role requires adherence to health and safety rules and a warm, resident-focused approach to service.

Responsibilities include inventory, ordering with the Culinary Services Director, and maintaining clean service areas while engaging with residents and staff to ensure satisfaction. Flexible shifts offered in a caring, upscale setting.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation.
• Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures essential in accordance to state guidelines.
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings.
• Demonstrates ability in a wide range of food preparation and skills.
• Experience in dealing with seniors and their dietary needs preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Position Summary: The Cook prepares and services meals for the dietary department in a safe and appetizing method in compliance with dietary standards, policy and procedures.
