Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items using cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include portion control, minimizing food waste, and maintaining sanitation standards in the kitchen.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers an hourly rate between $20.00 and $23.00.

Benefits for part-time roles include: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.

This is an evergreen role: applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no deadline.

Responsibilities
  1. Cook and package food items prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  2. Receive verbal orders from front counter staff for guest food requirements.
  3. Maintain quality and production standards on all menu items, ensuring food is fresh and of high quality when served.
  4. Control portions and ensure proper serving temperatures.
  5. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays.
  6. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
  7. Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, food is properly stored, utensils are sanitized, and floors are cleaned at shift end. The Floor Supervisor must check out the Cook to confirm cleanliness standards are met.
  8. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in the work area.
  9. Demonstrate excellent attendance consistent with company standards.
Qualifications
  • Effective communication with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests in a respectful, positive manner.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by regulations.
