Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing menu items utilizing cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment. The Cook must adhere to high food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction. Portion control, food waste management, and sanitation are additional areas of focus while operating in the kitchen.

This role pays an hourly rate of $16 to $18.

Responsibilities
  • Cook and package food products prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Receive verbal orders from front counter staff for guest food requirements.
  • Maintain quality and production standards on all menu items, ensuring food is fresh and of high quality when served.
  • Manage portion control and serving temperatures of all products.
  • Clean, stock, and restock workstations and displays.
  • Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean, food is properly stored, utensils are sanitized, and floors are swept and mopped at shift end. The Floor Supervisor must check out the Cook to confirm cleanliness standards are met.
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance in line with company standards.
Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests, fostering a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations.
